About “Durry” Durry was formed in 2020. The band members are Austin and Tallinn Zally. The siblings grew up in Burnsville, Minnesota. Austin in particular had a musical background and played in the band for twelve years. They promoted a crowdfunding campaign to raise the cost of releasing their first single through very successful activities on social media and TikTok. Spotify alone recorded more than 5 million streams on two versions of Who’s Laughing Now, the most successful song ever.The Burnsville, Minnesota-based duo is seven years apart, with Austin in the Millennial generation and Tallinn in the Z generation belonging to different ages, showing how much other generations have in common as they work together to form Dury.Through stories that started by chance and dynamic and hooky alto pop tracks, Durry is accomplishing what other bands can’t do and is doing it entirely in their own way. Tallinn and Austin’s journey as a band began unexpectedly and accidentally. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Austin and his wife moved back to their parents’ house where Tallinn lived at the time. In addition to returning home with his family, Austin had to cancel a large-scale tour scheduled with his former band Coyote Kid due to COVID-19. With only time left, Austin immersed himself in composing again and regularly asked Tallinn for her opinion, and the two expressed it as “Gen Z Quality Control” half jokingly and half serious.
